Booktopus — A Social Digital Library
The problem
Readers were juggling separate apps to read, talk about and exchange books. Booktopus puts all three in one place.
What I built
I built Booktopus as a full-stack React app: an in-browser e-book reader, a social feed with posts and comments, and wishlists for borrowing, buying or selling books — all backed by Firebase for auth and data. It's a library that behaves like a community.
Technical highlights
- 01
Read in the browser
A built-in e-book reader, so the library is also the reading room.
- 02
Social by design
Posts, comments and wishlists turn a catalogue into a community feed.
- 03
Borrow, buy or sell
Books can move between readers, not just be checked out.

The Booktopus digital library — browse, discover and read in one modern platform.

- Read
Booktopus was my reminder that the most fun products sit where two things people already love overlap — here, reading and talking about it.
